Event series submission

Preamble

MeetFighters offers event organisers the option to create a Landing Page (home page / main page) for your recurring events.

These events may include WrestleFests, Fight Clubs, WrestleCamps, or similar recurring events organised by you.

This allows you to host a lightweight event website with full control over the content, including multiple widgets to customise and enrich your page.

The link URL stays consistent and can be expanded with user-friendly aliases, such as:
meetfighters.com/wrestlefest/nyc
or shorter versions like:
meetfighters.com/wfnyc

Opening the link will always land on your event series page, so make sure to welcome and guide new users, whether or not they already have a MeetFighters account.

We encourage you to share this link on your social media channels. As part of our social media strategy, we will (soon) offer professionally designed short clips that automatically pull in your event information. These will be ready to share as short video files or static images.

Why, and how to use it

Event Series expands our existing event system by introducing a third layer.
To recap and clarify the definitions and types of events, and to explain how, why, and when to use them, please review the explanations and examples below.
If you still have questions, feel free to reach out to us.

  • Main Event: Also referred to simply as an "Event". This represents every entry listed under our Event page.
    • Purpose: Describes a single, specific event with a fixed date and time.
    • Example: "WrestleFest NYC 2025", "WrestleFest NYC 2026", "Fight Club Berlin – April 2026"
  • Sub-Events: Introduced to support larger or multi-day events (such as WrestleFests). Sub-events are always tied to exactly one Main Event.
    • Purpose: Allows better organisation of complex or multi-day events by defining a detailed agenda.
    • Example: "WrestleFest NYC 2025 – Friday Opening Party at 20:00 @ Eagle Bar"
  • [NEW] Event Series: An Event Series is designed for established, recurring events.
    • Purpose: An Event Series is not tied to a specific date or time. Instead, it automatically lists all related Main Events and acts as a persistent welcome page and central hub for your recurring event.
    • It allows users to always find your latest events, updates, and news.
    • One single, stable URL that can be used across all your communication channels.
    • Example: "WrestleFest NYC", "Fight Club Berlin"

How it works

  1. Create the initial page using simple-to-use widgets
  2. Add welcome text, pictures, highlights, and other content.
  3. Automatic event aggregation
    1. Based on the information provided during this event setup, MeetFighters automatically pulls in your latest events and organises them into:
      1. Next Event
      2. Featured Events
      3. Past Events
    2. To keep the list neat, this will ignore sub-events.

Practical example:

  • Assume you host a Fight Club every month and have created 12 events for the current year.
  • Assume today is April 1st.
  • During setup, you specified that this Event Series should highlight your Fight Club events.
  • The page will automatically display:
    • Next Event: Fight Club – April
    • Featured Events: Fight Club – April through December
    • Past Events: Fight Club – January through March

This also applies to yearly recurring events.

If you add, delete, or change events, the page will automatically update, while ignoring unrelated events.

  • The goal is to provide a fully automatic page you can link to.
  • Once the welcome text and basic setup are done, you can largely forget about it.
  • Of course, you may update images, add flavour text, or run polls whenever you like.

Features

  • Automatically pulls in relevant past, upcoming, and featured events based on your filter (ignores sub-events)
  • Customisable event series page (polls, picture highlights, custom text)
  • Guestbook for your event series
  • Tip / Buy Me a Coffee functionality
  • User-friendly URLs and aliases
  • Video hosting, as an introduction or 'what happened last time'
  • Ongoing support for feature ideas and future updates

Possible future expansions may include subscription/follow and newsletters (also usable without a MeetFighters account), chat rooms, and video clip hosting. As always, this is version 1.0. We will observe how this feature is used and expand it accordingly.

Costs

This service is offered free of charge, with no costs on your end.

MeetFighters provides the hosting space, traffic, and any files generated for social media use.

Optionally, you can enable the Tip Me feature (similar to Patreon or “Buy Me a Coffee”) to receive gratification from your attendees. Payment processing fees apply and will be deducted before payout.

How to get started

This feature is only available to established event hosts within our community, with a proven track record of past events.

  1. Open a new support ticket
  2. Provide the information to the 5 following points in your ticket:

  • 1) Title of your event series page
  • 2) Custom URLs
    • Replace aaa, bbb, ccc with your name or brand - it can be the same, or different per section (See the example for WrestleFest New York)
    • Required Main URL: meetfighters.com/series/aaa (meetfighters.com/series/wf-nyc)
    • (optional) WrestleFest URL: meetfighters.com/wrestlefest/bbb (meetfighters.com/wrestlefest/nyc)
    • (optional) Short URL: meetfighters.com/ccc (meetfighters.com/wrestlefest-nyc)
  • 3) Content query
    • This is a string such as "Club" or "WrestleFest" used to filter your events.
    • All events are already limited to your MeetFighters account.
    • All events are limited to main events only; sub-events won't be listed here.
    • In addition, we filter events based on this query within the event title.
    • Example: using "Club" will list all events that contain “Club” in their title.
    • If you are unsure what to use, describe the purpose of your events and we will assist you.
  • (optional) 4) Additional admins
    • Your account will automatically be an admin.
    • You may add additional MeetFighters usernames as co-admins.
  • (optional) 5) Tip function
    • To receive tips from the community, provide your monetised WatchFighters channel name.
      • WatchFighters’ payout infrastructure is used in the background for administration and payouts.
      • Tippers do not need a WatchFighters account and will not see the WatchFighters page.
