One to own our community events, sponsorships and partnerships, from WrestleFest to the WatchFighters Fight Hub, and more. One to run our social media and content, working with real creator material instead of whatever an AI spits out.

We're a small team and we're honest about the fact that these are things we currently do badly. If you already know this community, that's an advantage we can't hire for anywhere else.

Hi Fighters around the world, but especially in Canada,

What a weekend! In case you haven’t heard (or are living under a rock), we absolutely took over! From July 23-26, nearly 300 of our fighters from over 12 countries took over Toronto’s gay village for WrestleFest Toronto 2026. Four days of wrestling, new connections, and sweaty fun. To say the event was a success would be an understatement:

✅The hotel completely sold out - with over 40 rooms filled with wrestlers 
✅Wrestlers completely took over Church Street, packing the local bars with singlets and sexy wrestling gear
✅Hanlan’s Point Beach was taken over by over 50 wrestlers in their speedos and sexy beach attire 
✅The community came together for over 20 hours of open mats, training, and wrestling & boxing fun

If you were there, you know that the vibes were, as described by a group of attendees, “legendary and pure magic”. If you missed out…well…let’s just say you'd better start packing your bags for next year.

BIGGER, BOLDER, AND MORE FUN THAN EVER 

This year’s programming pushed the limits of what our community is capable of when they put their heads together. The organizing team introduced several new events, including: 
🏖️The gay beach day, bringing over 50 wrestlers to Canada’s oldest queer space 
⭐13 live matches spread across 3 events - including XXX Wrestling at Steamworks and The Main Event - North America’s largest gay wrestling show to date. 
💦Oil and erotic wrestling giving wrestlers the chance to connect and explore ;)
🤼The official launch of Canada’s first regular queer-friendly grappling classes and Queer West Boxing Club

WE PARTIED HARD AND TRAINED HARDER

WrestleFest Toronto didn’t just take over the bars and clubs, attendees also turned local boxing and BJJ schools into queer spaces. The team offered over 20 hours of classes and open mats, with over 40 grapplers coming together for Canada’s largest queer grappling class to date! Boxers had their chance to glove up at Queer West Boxing Club, taking to the heavy bags and relaxing with a sauna and cold plunge after class.

Have you spent days upon days wondering, to the point where the suspense was driving you to the edge of insanity: "when will Interest Groups finally be available in the MeetFighters App"?

Well, our team of ninja app developers have an answer for you! And it is not a bad answer like "never" or a quizzical answer like "When the third seal breaks and the stars align in the shape of a boxing ring". In fact, they have the best answer that you can get to a question like this:

As always, we also did some smaller enhancements, fixed some bugs and caused some new ones.

Unless you have found a really comfortable rock to live under, you have probably heard of AI and its endless potential to generate fakeness. 

Unfortunately, by mid 2026 some AI models are capable of generating or manipulating images and videos that are indistinguishable from reality. If you think you are too sophisticated to be fooled, you are either wrong already, or will be wrong in a matter of months with the next generation of models that will be even more powerful. This train is not stopping, if anything, it is just getting started.

For a site like ours this is a potential disaster. Sure, any online meeting place has fake accounts, or accounts using photos taken from the web. From that point of view, nothing has changed. What has changed is ease of access to tools that can create a fake account, and the ability to target. You can create an idealized version of yourself, in high quality gear and a lot fitter than you ever have been, standing in a ring, or performing a perfect technique that you have never been able to do in real life.

From the perspective of a professional fake, this is a game changer. (And thus, it is a game changer for us as well.) We still have our existing defenses (past opponents and recommendations) to fall back to, but a new person joining the site would have neither of those.

To illustrate the point, guess which of these is AI generated:

So what can you do? There is nothing you can do to reliably spot AI fakes. They are only going to get more convincing, more realistic and harder to detect.

Somewhat counter-intuitively, the best way to protect yourself from being fooled, is to verify your account.

What?
How does that help you?

It helps indirectly. If every genuine person on this site verifies their account, the fakes won't have a large crowd of unverified accounts to hide among. Those very enticing photos without verification will become warning labels.

This is what you can do today, to protect yourself, and protect everyone else.

Site policy changes

When a newly uploaded images is detected to be either AI generated or a screenshot, it will be watermarked as such. These photos can be used normally but they cannot be your avatar photo. Naturally, the photo must still depict you and represent your current age, level of fitness, etc. We are not giving anybody a license to be deceptive, but if you wish to place yourself in a different environment or blur out a background item, or remove an identifying tattoo using your AI powers, go ahead with that.

With this small change, you can upload your AI-Slop, but it wont be the main attention of your profile.

The watermark is there so viewers can draw their own conclusions.

We will continue to monitor the situation as it evolves and update these policies. We are open to suggestions and will try to react to new developments in the AI frontier.

In general, we are supporting and highlighting profiles and pictures from natural real persons, and pushing AI-Pictures into a corner of your profile. While at the same time, want to allow the use of these technology where it makes sense, removing identifying body marks, or other humans, landscape or signs from the background.

Photo Peer Review Changes

Our lives have been getting progressively more complicated. To make it a tiny bit simpler, two review categories ("clean" and "mild") have been merged into one. The new category includes both fully clothed and shirtless photos.

App Update

The MeetFighters App has been updated to version 4.2.0. This new version includes support for scheduling meetings (a.k.a. "Future Opponents") and many small improvements. Download it now (or whenever Apple and Google are done reviewing it)!

We’ve rolled out an update to the MeetFighters messaging system:

Don’t forget: Everyone can now create group messages in MeetFighters! Just click the plus icon on your mail page and select “Create new Group.”

With your feedback, we’ll keep improving this feature. The first wave of improvements has already been released over the past days, available right now on the website, and soon in our App.
