Aussie/New Zealand Wrestling

Hi to those in the Sydney area.

Are there Sydney gyms that have a setup for wrestling or grappling, or even a large matted area?

Thanks,

Will

You can hire a dungeon in St Peters where they have mats for wrestling

There was a matted wrestling room, padding on walls etc at Sydney City Steam in Sussex Street.

Sydney City Steam have moved, and I don’t know whether they’ve got the same setup

Closed long ago... was very small room, like wrestling in a padded toilet cubical (Ok, maybe 2)

Particularly if you’re a big fella. 💪

There are plenty of fight gyms in Sydney for MMA, BJJ classes.
Silverbacks is a gay wrestling club that train every week, if you are looking for Olympic style.

But if you are looking for a private venue to use for your own matches you are totally out of luck

Thanks for the info! I’ll have to check out Silverbacks then: may be a good way to learn

They are a great group of guys if you are after that style...I'm way too rough for them and would break all the rules (and arms, and legs) . But I do go to parties held by them and they are a bunch of fun
