Why do so many bjj practioners refuse to start from standing when room is not a problem?

Because falling hard sucks! But anyway, I’ll start standing if the other person wants to. I hate it, but I don’t avoid it. I know I need it. I can breakfall and practice sprawling if I don’t get the shot.

Classic osoto gari but it only works on white belts.

On upper belts, I fake it and switch to an uchi Mata or try to take back.

In JJ competition, some of the highest percentage throws for me are: Osoto Gari, Osoto Gaeshi, and Seoi Nage.

if my PT for my shoulder helps me enough will attemp seoi nagi as it seems similar in some ways to setting up the fireman's from the ground

The only thing with Seoi is that you gotta be fast. If you go too slow you run the risk of giving your back to your opponent.

What takedowns do you like to use in your bjj rolls? For me I use fireman's carry both from standing and from the ground as well as using an anaconda choke starting it from standing.
