In my case, I believe people would say I have a beer belly and punch me in the belly.
For a soft midsection like mine, it is most definitely a Belly punch, but for some one with more muscular abs, it is a gut punch.
I think exactly the same as you. Why? I don't know, but the word, and the sound of the word STOMACH, reminds me of a man and it excites me just thinking about the stomach, a punch in the stomach, the physical reaction to a punch in the stomach....!!!

I prefer belly. For me it implies a soft meaty midsection. Gut sounds too firm and hard for me.
