Respectfully I think you have the wrong markuk.
I believe there is another one on here.
I always reply to messages, even if there is no chance of meeting.
Message me now and I will reply to you.
Thanks.
I regret not flagging a recent no show as unreliable. I gave him a chance to explain himself after the evening of radio silence and he replied “hospital”. Needless to say, I reckoned that was BS, but let it go.
Can’t underestimate the value of past opponent list and recommendations.
Its more than 3. Some arrange to meet, cancel the very last-minute minute and rearrange another date. Keeping a endless cycle of repeated behaviour.
Id love to name, but theyll just delete and come back on under something else. This pattern waves a red flag to me. Why do it? Whats there reasoning? You either want to do this or not, if you dont or cant then go to chat fighters. This is for the real people who are not scared and know what there doing
Totally, i run a zero tolerance now. If its arranged, i allow 2 chances to arrange.
After that i assume its just another time waster or fantasising person.
The time off work hurts tge most as does the time spent in travel.
I know our real life gets in the way sometimes. This still does not account for the large number of people that flake out last minute with the lamest of excuses. There are at least 3 here in the UK who regularly let people down. One of them constantly changing his name and profile on the site. Are we allowed to name these let downs?
It is usually left to me to check on availability of match room, book it and pay in advance. Since I have been on the site only 2 opponents out of 12 that have flaked have offered recompense. It is not just the money. It is days booked off work, train tickets booked and a waste of a day.
I have decided that I will no longer arrange, book and pay for mat rooms.
That job will from now on fall to my opponent. Probably means not so many matches, however it does mean I will not constantly be losing money.
This applies to everyone, new and previous opponents.
Apologies for the rant. I have just had enough of it.
Thanks.
