Any room with moderate floor space works just fine if you can spread out a 10x10 (or larger) blue tarpaulin from the local DIY/hardware shop. It's easy to setup over a carpet and duvet and it won't let the oil seep through, and it's easily put in a garbage bin bag without much fuss when finished.
If you want an actual structure, a kiddie pool which measures at least 8x8 or bigger should work as long as it's not cheap, easily wrecked plastic and it isn't blown up to the max. You have to account for the pressure you're putting on it while wrestling vigorously. Having a blowout mid-match would wreck the opportunity to do it. A structure then has to be washed/cleaned out after, though.
The photos on my profile show two different setups I used for oil and then mud matches. I've had a dozen using both, and counting. Good luck!
Others talk about about this topic on other threads here, and many tend to prefer coconut oil. Some prefer olive oil, and since both are edible, there are no worries about ingesting it if necessary.
I'm old school, so I will always prefer baby oil. It doesn't bother my eyes like it does others, and the scent immediately adds to the experience for me. When warmed up right before a match, it feels incredible when applying it.
What do you use for mats/surface to wrestle in during oil wrestling? Been thinking if getting something to wrestle in and been wanting to try/host an oil match.
