Wow, that's a shame and with such short notice! I wasn't planning on buying anything soon but I did buy a few DVDs since I only have until tomorrow. I remember going all the way to the video store in the Castro in San Francisco when I lived in Oakland to rent these wrestling videos.
I know a buddie in Texas who tells me he has limited access to sites he used to frequent regularly. I think you have to upload your government ID and I think the vendor cannot retain that identifying information... which means you have to do it repeatedly.
Some states have passed new more restrictive laws about pornography, making it much more difficult for users to access sites and make purchases. Some states require age verification and users have to upload images of their driver's license. Not something people want to do when they are buying porn. Some web sites are just blocking certain states based on IP address - for example, Underground Wrestler does this now and Falcon Video will start doing this December 1st. Other sites are just calling it quits because they don't want to deal with the new legal hassles. I'm guessing this is what is driving Can-Am's decision.
I am no expert at the internet, but I think I've observed enough to know this. While the States going about doing this have various motives, the primary beneficiaries of these laws will not be who they claim to protect. It will be the Russian, Chinese, and other foreign hosted websites who will gain customers.
Yep, got the email and made my final purchases. Very sad since I've been buying videos/DVDs from them for 30 years. They were the first erotic wrestling company I discovered back in the mid 90s.
