I started traditional martial arts when I was young, earning a 4th degree black belt in Hwardo, which is a mix of various styles, and largely what led to me wanting to pursue combat sports. I competed in numerous karate/TKD tournaments, but wanted more of the physicality. Since then, I've been an amateur MMA fighter with a 5-1 record (all five wins in the first round by submission), and held two belts in the 135lb division. I am also a Brazilian Jiu jitsu black belt, and former varsity wrestler in HS. I've competed in both more times than I can remember. I also am also a judo blue belt, competing in one judo tournament, and a long time practitioner of Muay Thai (2 smoker fights).
