It is what it is...

I enjoy being part of the Meetfighters community. In my time on the site, I have met some truly wonderful people and had many excellent experiences.

My mindset has been "it is what it is"

I am a stocky but athletic guy who is the back half of his 50s. There will be guys that I know I will never get a chance to wrestle. Whether it is because of distance or lack of interest of compatibility, I accept that.

I have learned over the years to read profiles carefully and make note of the type of opponent a guy wrestles and the type if match they like. If the dots dont fully connect, I wont contact them.

If i do reach out to someone and they tell me they are not interested, its no harm no foul. In the event a guy is rude to me or wants to point out what is wrong with me or my appearance, I dont get offended. It isnt worth my time or energy.

I used to get annoyed with the "no response is a response" crowd. I don't get annoyed anymore. There are times I have to put myself in another person's shoes and think about the messages they must get...and I get it.

Bottom line is its just wrestling. If an opportunity presents itself to have a match, let's get after it! I enjoy chatting with people all over the world just as much as wrestling.

I am looking forward to Chicago Wrestlefest. I knkw ill have some matches, but i am looking forward to meeting others. Meetfighers is a huge community and there is room of everybody.

Nice mindset ! If you're in Chicago, you should get in touch with cub93100. He's a good wrestler.

Good to meet you through this platform. Sorry I have start by saying I am from the UK and the chance of us meeting is slim.
I do agree that it us nice to receive a relky, even a not interested is good protocol.
Some people see wrestling guys in their 50s and 60s as oh no too old.
Lets hope they have the same issue if they reach thag age.
Your a solid wrestler, blue belt jiu jitsu, so a guy who enjoys a good wrestle.
Always up for making a new friend along the way.
