Some of you heard about Camp Wrestlefest, but some of you didn't, and even those who did hear of it, probably wonder what it was like. This is the second year it's been held, and it's mostly put on by MeetFighters member Mcic. It's at a gay campground called Camp Out in E Stroudsburg, PA. I help promote the event & plan the parties and stuff like that. Here is a little about what it was like this year.

There used to be a gay wrestling weekend in the Pocono mountains at a campground called Hillside, and it was planned by MeetFighters member say rob from 1994-2011. You can read some about it on the history page of the WrestlefestNYC website linked on my profile. It was the biggest of all the annual wrestling meetups and guys returned year-after-year to wrestle and even sometimes set up a ring and made videos, etc. You can see some pics of Brooklyn BodyWrecker wrestling in a match at Hillside campground from back then. Camp Wrestlefest is a modern attempt to recreate that environment of manly camaraderie with a bunch of is wrestlers out in the woods.

Mcic arrived on Thursday afternoon and him and some of the guys and Mikey, the sexy camp worker, set up the big-ass 30' x 16' tent. Under the tent were a 10' x 14' set of 2" thick foam mats, and a 10' inflatable mat. Both felt incredible being outside on the grass (with a tarp underneath). The tent was open day and night for anybody to wrestle in. Just like at Wrestlefest, there were some guys who could NOT stop wrestling and leave the mats, and some guys who just watched. Ages of guys attending the fest ranged from 20's to 70's (maybe 80's). 

The campground has a large regular clientele, so they were welcome to join in the wrestling too, and in fact we have some new MeetFighters members because of it. It was a trip to walk around the campground and see how different people set up their lots. Our guys stayed in various kinds of accommodations like tents, RVs, & cabins. The pool was a popular place to be as well as the food truck.

Thursday night there was a small bonfire at a regular camper's site and then some guys went over to the Foxhole, which is the "anything goes" building where it's always lights out. I can report that wrestlers and non-wrestlers alike were having fun in there. 

Friday was wrestling all day, and going to the pool, and hanging out until the welcome dinner for all Wrestlefest attendees. It was catered with burgers, hot dogs, potato salad, macaroni, and regular salad. We all introduced ourselves and Mcic made a few remarks. There was at least one man there who had attended the original Hillside wrestling weekend. 

Friday night we had an intro to wrestling session for all of Camp Out led by singletsandspladles which was well-attended. And then there was a big camp-wide party with a DJ, dancers, and OIL wrestling. It was kind of cold out, so only a little oil wrestling happened, but a couple of our guys got out there and showed em how it's done. 

Saturday was beautiful weather again, so wrestling all day. There was a "pup" invasion in the afternoon with a bunch of guys in dog hoods joining in. 

Saturday night was a potluck dinner where we brought leftovers, and then another big camp-wide party with a huge bonfire outside between the club and the wrestling tent. Guys would stop in the wrestling tent and go at it while they were in their singlets for the party. That's where we picked up a hottie wrestler, Wolf97. Mcic was burning up the mats till midnight.

Sunday morning we had a group breakfast with breakfast burritos, potatoes, coffee, etc as it rained outside and we all talked about packing up. After that, we packed up the mats and mostly headed home, though some stayed until Monday.
