Wrestlefest 2016-2026

Exactly ten years ago, I flew to New York for my first WrestleFest.

Back then, I was just a guy from Switzerland who loved wrestling — the holds, the intensity, the connection, the feeling of testing strength and skill with someone equally passionate.

WrestleFest, at that time was about community and still is. About finally stepping into the same space as people I had only seen online. It felt like a gathering of wrestlers who simply wanted to roll, have fun, challenge each other, and share that passion.

I arrived nervous but excited. I still remember walking into the Pen Hotel with rooms filled with guys I recognized from Meetfighters but also some from the great Websites like BG East and others — thinking to myself that I was just a fan who somehow managed to stand among them.

I had the opportunity to step into a recorded match for Movimus Wrestling. It wasn’t the start of something I though back then. Just an easy way to meet someone I otherwise watch online but it also was the first time I experienced what it felt like to have a match captured on camera in a structured way.

After New York, I traveled to Florida. Again, to meet people to have fun wrestling and then, suddenly I visited the BG East ring while they were recording could watch how the fights were made until ended up in one as well. I filmed a match against Kelly King.

Later came my BG East fight against Kayden Keller in Boston, to this day my favourite🥰

After that I took a bit of a break until UKWH contacted me and invited me for some fun time filming in Birmingham where I had a great time, came back to the wrestling scene and remembered how much I loved it. Around the same time WatchFighters began for me. Not as a grand plan. I wanted more matches. More opponents. More moments on the mat. And if it was filmed, even better if it paid for the trips and made it easier for me to meet others and have more fun.

Three years ago, I moved to Canada. I got a job opportunity and though I have to take it as long as I could. A new chapter. And with it came more fights, more filming, more travel. I met incredible guys — from Meetfighter and Watchfighter — each bringing something different to the mat.

And the funny part?

Even now, after years of matches and travel, I sometimes still feel like that Swiss guy at his first WrestleFest — slightly in disbelief that this journey keeps growing.

And I’m not done.

I still want new opponents.
New challenges.
More rematches.
More first encounters.

More moments where two people step on the mat and let the match speak.

If our paths cross at the next WrestleFest, an open mat, or somewhere unexpected — let’s make it a good one.

Ten years later, I’m still here.

Still grateful.
Still hungry.
