The duke’s body still hurt. It was a good body to hurt in. He was young for his title: blond-haired, sharp-mouthed, built like a man who had been trained to ride, to fence, to take a fall and get up angry. Broad through the shoulders, thick in the chest and arms, a torso cut by work and war rather than vanity. Not a statue. A living thing. Muscle that moved under bruised skin. A narrow waist that only made the rest of him look more dangerous. Even sitting half-dressed in the chair, he filled the room—an unmistakable male animal, contained by linen and rank and the last remnants of pride.

Frank was the same breed, only without the polish.

A few years younger, just as tall, just as heavily made. The young teacher’s body had been hidden too long under a servant’s coat. Off it, he was all compact power: a deep chest, hard stomach, arms thickened by labor and by the fight he had already survived. His hands were larger than they looked in gloves. His mouth was cut. Under the violet shadow of his left eye the bone was clean and stubborn. Two men. Two solid, unapologetic males. Not sculpted for display. Built to collide.

That was the problem. They had already collided once, shirtless, locked, sweating, and the memory of that other body—the duke’s weight, Frank’s strength, the heat of muscle against muscle—had not left the room when the blood dried. Then the door opened.

No knock. No permission. Frank came in like a man who had already decided.

The coat was gone. The shirt clung to him where it was still damp from the rain or from the walk through the house. Bandaged knuckles. That dark bloom under one eye. He did not bow. For a moment the duke only looked at him, and the looking was already a kind of touch: the breadth of Frank’s shoulders, the way his chest rose, the simple fact of him standing there as if he had every right to the air in that chamber.

“How do you dare" What are you doing here?” the duke asked, and his voice gave him away. Frank did not answer. He crossed the room and shoved him. Both hands. Hard. Straight to the chest. The duke went down on the bed, startled more than hurt. The mattress took his weight and the old bruises flared. He started to rise—old reflex, master, command—and Frank was already over him. Knees bracketing his hips. Wrists pinned to the mattress.

Two bodies that matched too well: the duke’s blond, more aristocratic power under Frank’s rawer strength. Chest to chest, they were almost equals. That was what made it unbearable.

“Another fight?” the duke managed. Frank shook his head once.

“No,” he said. “The part we didn’t finish.”

Then he kissed him. The first kiss was rough and unsure. The duke froze. He could have thrown him off. He did not. His mouth opened under Frank’s, and that was the only answer he gave. Frank made a low sound and pressed down. That was when the fight came back—only it had changed its clothes. They rolled. The mattress dipped and complained. Frank lost the pin; the duke almost had him, a surge of muscle that showed what the title usually hid; Frank took it back with a movement that was half wrestle, half embrace. Chests collided, solid, hot.

A knee slipped between thighs. Someone’s shirt tore without either of them deciding to tear it, and then there was skin: the duke’s battered, beautiful torso, Frank’s unmarked where the duke had not reached him and dark where he had. Every time one of them gained the upper hand, their hips met, hard and ungraceful, and the air went out of both of them. It was the cellar all over again. Same grip. Same refusal to yield. Except now there was no pretense left in the way two hard male bodies fitted against each other. Frank shoved the duke’s wrists up once more and held them there, breathing hard, forehead almost touching his.

“THIS” he said, wrecked already. “This is what you wanted when you told me to close the door.”

The duke’s answer was not words.

He arched up, seeking the contact, and Frank gave it to him—a slow, dirty grind that made the duke’s head fall back into the pillows. Through what little cloth remained they could feel each other, thick and hot, sliding, catching, losing the line again. Not a thrust meant to end anything. A friction that kept building because neither of them could stand to stop it. They kissed through it. Open. Clumsy. The duke bit at Frank’s mouth the way he had once bitten his arm to break a hold. Frank laughed against his lips, a broken sound, and rolled them again.

Now the duke was over him for a moment—dark hair falling forward, shoulders blocking the light, the full imposing weight of him—and even then he did not take the room back. He let the young pull him down. Let Frank’s hands map the bruises he himself had put there. Let the younger man’s thigh push higher, pressing them together until the duke shuddered and hid his face in Frank’s throat.

“Frank—” “Say stop and I stop.”

The duke’s fingers tightened in his hair instead. Clothes became a nuisance and then a memory. Bare skin on bare skin changed the temperature of the whole room. They were all marks and heat and the wet, helpless drag of two cocks trapped between their stomachs, rubbing every time one of them moved to kiss, to pin, to breathe. Slick now. Obscene in its simplicity. Two perfect, stubborn bodies using each other the only way they had trusted until now. The duke’s breath broke. Frank spat into his own palm without looking away and reached down, wrapping both of them together in one rough, intimate fist.

The duke cursed. Frank’s hips stuttered and then found a rhythm that was no longer quite a fight: a filthy, sliding stroke, cock against cock, his hand making it wetter, tighter, inevitable. It rose the way the brawl had risen: too fast, too much, no elegance. Hands in hair. Mouths on throats. Frank’s thumb dragging over the head of him on every roll until the duke was shaking, shameless, pushing into that grip as if he had forgotten his own name. Something more hovered there, obvious, possible. A shift of hips. A question asked with the body and not the mouth.

The duke’s legs tightened around him in answer, opening just enough to say *yes* without saying it, and for a moment the room narrowed to heat and the knowledge that they could go further. They did not name it. They stayed in that almost—and then they ruined it on purpose. Frank worked them together harder, dirtier, the mattress complaining, two men built for impact finally admitting what the impact had been for. When it broke, it broke wet and shared: the duke coming first with a wrecked sound against Frank’s mouth, spilling over both of them, and Frank following with a groan torn out of his chest, hips jerking, adding to the mess smeared between their stomachs as if the fight had only changed what they left on each other’s skin. Afterward they did not separate at once.

They were still stuck together, breathing, filthy, Frank’s hand lazy and unapologetic in the wetness between them. The duke’s mouth stayed against his shoulder. The house went on being a house beyond the door. “If you call this a mistake,” Frank said quietly, “I’ll walk out.” The duke’s thumb moved once against his nape. Not an order. A hold. “It isn’t a mistake,” he said. His voice was hoarse. “It was the first honest thing we’ve done.” Frank let out a breath that was almost a laugh and dropped his forehead to the duke’s. Outside, nothing had changed.

In the bed, two bodies that had been made to fight had finally found the other use for all that strength—and they were still too close, still too marked, still too wet and hot, with each other to pretend it had been anything else.

THE END

Thanks for this really great story. You should write some books.
For me the story can go deeper in the sexuality in the end but it's just my personal opinion.
