Not surprised. US does it too except mostly for gay porn. I see tons of str8 porn with women as the "choked" person still pretty available. Complete turn off and proves the double standards of the US
For me personally, videos of sleepers have played a big role. I started at age 10-12 with watching sleepers on TV wrestling. I fantasized about it, and it stayed with me over the years, When I joined a gym I got some big muscle guys to do it to me and later joined a martial arts club looking for guys to practice sleepers with. Most of my fascination with sleepers was generated by my own fantasy life, and I only discovered BG-East and other underground wrestling VIDS where it's done a lot later. Gus I've chatted with about how their fetish got started say it was through TV wrestling, seeing a live wrestling match where it was done, wrestling with friends and being put out, etc. I don't see how the UK ban on porn videos could control the fetish in real life.
The effect porn has on actual behavior has never been established. There are studies both pro and on that porn increases sexual offending. Some states such as Utah have jumped the gun, and made all porn illegal. Other states leave it for communities to decide what is acceptable when persons in possession of porn are charged. The question remains whether making choking porn illegal will stop the increase in choking related deaths in the UK. Without definite proof of some kind, I'd say they are very much out on the limb. The porn industry will doubtlessly take the UK to court for their ations too.
The US is also doing it. You can't find it on the sites you used to could and thisvid.com which is a video sharing site is also banning it as of this month so meetfighters may be the only way to see it anymore.
While I don't believe in censorship it is probably in response to the growing popularity of choking and as a result there has been an uptick in youth strokes and deaths in the last couple years.
Just read that here in England and Wales online porn depicting strangulation will be banned from 6 November. Its being reported it will be illegal to possess or publish porn which shows strangulation or suffocation.
Slightly concerned at what this means as someone who has a fetish for these holds and at the prospect that viewing porn related to this will effectively be illegal for me in less than 3 weeks.
It means that the UK continues to do what it does best: censor whatever it is that the very old people in the House secretly enjoy but publicly condemn.
