I’m technically trained, and still don’t think I can fight 😂 I also think it’s great when an untrained guy has muscles and size over me, but I can be competitive and even beat them sometimes. It doesn’t happen a lot, but it’s cool when it does. Makes me feel like I’m the man! 👊🏻 💪 😂 But if they’re bigger/stronger/faster/younger AND have some training, I’m toast! That’s when I know I can’t fight! 😢 So more guys should definitely train to find this out - your muscles and “seeing red” might not work with someone who knows what they’re doing.
I get that a lot. Guys with no training telling me how they're going to completely dominate me on the mats and on the day they're like, "oh shit, it's like you're magic, I literally couldn't get anything on you" and I point out that they keep a narrow base so they're easy to knock over, if I let them take a top control position they don't root in the floor and try to go for these "pro" submissions that require compliance from the jobber to work. Then they ask how much and for how long would they need to train to beat me and so I bluntly tell them that I trained bjj for over 10 years 3-5 times a week so, I don't know, try to get in a couple years and see how you do?
