Why I don't typically talk to/message with new MeetFighter profiles
I wish all newcomers to this site a hearty welcome and well wishes for all their fighting dreams to come true! That being said, I have a general rule of not interacting with new MeetFighters users who have only been on the site for a few months (and have zero opponents) bc many have done the following routine:
- Physically compliment me...
- immediately ask to trade personal pics...
- delete their profiles just a few days later.
I dunno if these guys are real, bots, pic collectors, Looky Lous, or what, but they're just not worth the time — so I don't do it. Lots of other folks on this site will be happy to welcome and chat with newcomers, offering valuable friendship and guidance.
Serious newcomers will stick around and become an active member of our fighting community — hell, I hope they do! But until then, they should bark up someone else's tree. I'd rather interact with proven men who aren't afraid of sticking around and putting some real skin in the game rather than fly-by-nights who up and disappear like a fart in the wind.
Happy fighting, folks!

9/18/2026 9:03 PMAs a person willing to be that bridge, I can understand his preference not to be. Especially because, depending on the person, we have to choose what to do and prioritize and often with limited time.
So if OP particularly doesn’t care to do that, that’s fine. That’s what people like me are for.

Ah, another fighter left a very thoughtful comment that I accidentally deleted, which Synxiec was responding to, so I wanted to share what he had written here, for context:
The commenter had said it's unfair to paint all newcomers with such a broad brush because, after all, how are they to feel welcome and get matches if people like me refuse to engage with them? It was a fair point and I wanted to make sure to at least acknowledge what he said since I accidentally deleted it. I have apologized to the original commenter in private for my mistaken deletion of his thoughtful reply.
And also, yes! There are plenty of other friendly men on this site who will happily engage with other newcomers, and I am grateful for them, as I (like all of us) was once a newcomer as well. Perhaps I will get better at sniffing out fly-by-nights from committed newcomers, but for the time being, I've encountered far more of the former than the latter.

9/18/2026 9:31 PMOP was so annoyed with my response that he hit delete….. 😜😜😜.
He has apologized. And agreed to a match with this newbie. 😉

9/18/2026 10:26 PMEveryone in this community has had to start somewhere. As PinMagnet says, how are newcomers supposed to get experience if experienced guys won't wrestle them? I can also understand hispanicpanic79's frustrations and boundaries though.
Anyone that has been on Meetfighters or similar sites for long has come across guys who ask for pictures, WhatsApp details and/or want to cam or phone within the first five or six messages. We've also seen the guys who completely delete their profiles on a regular basis, only to come back on the site in a few days, weeks or months and act as though they're brand new. Then there are the guys who have been on the site for years and live in cities or areas where matches should be easy to set up but have zero past opponents. Yes, there are time wasters, fantasists and picture hunters on the site. I would suggest, however, that these are in the minority. Veteran guys should be able to pick them out and deal with them appropriately.
Those of us that have been around for any length of time can tell from the initial interaction with a newbie whether they are serious or not. I feel it is better for a truly interested newcomer to the wrestling scene to be able to connect with an experienced member and made to feel welcome.

9/19/2026 2:54 AMI have been having a personal debate for some time about what turns me off more;
A. the newcomer who greets me cordially for the first time and almost immediately asks, "any more pics?" and then goes silent when I say no;
B. the newcomer who greets me cordially for the first time and almost immediately sends me a dick pic;
C. Any member who has been a member for 5 or more years and asks, "what kind of match do you like?" (because after being a member that long you should know to read the profile before asking such a question of anyone);
D. Any member who says "Hi" in a chat room PM and says nothing else after I say "hi" back; OR
E. The few members who contact me every other month and ask me the same questions they asked every other time they contacted me: "what holds do you like", "what gear do you like," "do you wrestle in the nude," etc.
Otherwise, I enjoy chatting with everyone, newbies and veterans, young and old, big and small, regular or infrequent wrestlers, and members from anywhere in the world. My bucket list of desired matches grows longer every day.
While I am at on @hispanicpanic79's thread, please permit me to thank all the great guys who have been patient for many years while I dealt with various health issues and a purposely slow recovery. I expect to be back on the mats by the end of this year (but with a few trial matches before that). Thanks!

9/19/2026 12:19 PMYeah i really can understand you because some of them delete there profile quite quickly or don't even respond after one day.
But yeah I had some new members and was there first opponent and it was really good.
I think everyone started new without any past opponent and I like to give them a chance.
What I really don't like is the members with lots of years without any past opponents. I know it's really hard to find the first one but come on more than 3 to 5 years or longer without any past opponent that's horrible. And really pisses me off are this guys where the pictures are older the 3 years and no past opponents. Some of them I totally ignored.
I wish everyone here lots of good fights.

9/19/2026 2:01 PMInterestingly, I had the opposite experience. When I first joined MF, a 10+ year veteran on the west coast of the USA quickly reached out to me first and welcomed me to MF. He complimented my “pro wrestling look” and my “ring name” – Megawatt. We began to exchange messages, pictures, and short videos over the next several months. To be honest, I was extremely flattered to be noticed by this popular veteran wrester, who checked all of my pro wrestling fantasy boxes. I was eager to meet him and offered several times to fly across the country – working around a huge, August corporate event that he managed. This went on for a couple years – he said he was excited to wrestle me but his work was always too hectic. But not so busy as to prevent him from traveling and meeting other even newer wrestlers during this exact time. I understand that geography and work schedules are often challenging (and there are several guys with whom I want to wrestle, but timing has not yet worked out), but I finally concluded that he had no intention of wrestling me and was somehow getting off on stringing me along. He continues to follow me on the site and I occasionally get messages – “looking good pro wrestler” - which I just ignore. Thankfully, the vast majority of my interactions on the site – whether just chatting (for now) or wrestling on the mat – have been extremely fun and rewarding. We all have developed our own defense mechanisms against those rare guys on the site with fake intentions.

9/19/2026 4:59 PMI mean you're describing anyone that doesn't have opponent. Not only newcomers.
I feel like it's strange to be reached by someone that has been here for 10 years and still have 0 real opponents and only interactions they have is saying "hello", asking for pics or discussing about how sexy and hot it would be to meet up (but have multiple excuses to not do so).
I think it's even more understandable for a newcomer to act this way than a guy sticking and wondering around for decades.
In any case, I would never reject a newcomer. Each one is a stone that build up our community. Without newcomers, nobody would be here. We were all a newcomer at some point.

9/21/2026 11:23 AMWas on site years ago and left more from self discipline than anything else. Live in Ireland and we have very few guys on the site. That said I did meet great guys travelling abroad etc. Unfortunately as I left the site for a few years when I returned my profile was deleted and with it my previous recommendations. Still I am glad I returned and have again a few fights under my belt. Generally super guys here has been my experience and as I age there is great respect and acknowledgment of limits etc.
Of course there are always a few guys who may be shy or just collecting pics who disappear / everyone to their own.
Thanks guys

29 days agoI find myself leary and skeptical of many new profiles as well. Not saying I won't interact with them but many who join likely have little intention of actually meeting. That is certainly not all of them though. I generally tend to wait and see if they meet others but I have encountered many first timers over the years. I'll give it a chance but always assume initially it will lead to nothing. It is somewhat frustrating to see how many profiles never get a verified past opponent. I am sure we are all here for different reasons but the fantasy aspect does little for me.

29 days agoI can understand the attitude towards ɓewbies, but unfortunately not only newbies act that way. APPROXIMATELY 50% ARE NOT INTERRESTED TO FIGHT, BUT IN SEX!!
The nnumber of real fighters I could find here is countable with one Hand in more than 7 years.

I mean, Meetfighters is sex oriented. Of course, we all like different style of fighting / wrestling but usually we mix it up depending on what we agree on and chemistry. And we both know what's going to happen during a match or at the end.
We're a lot of "real" fighters. When I registered, I was impressed about how many guys are from Pro Wrestling / Freestyle / BJJ or any martial art. And usually, we want to explore more than just meeting someone for a fight / training session, we have our gym and club for that.
With that said, I understand your point saying some guys on here only look for sex. But I don't think it's completly true, they are looking for Fight + Sex together, and I can't blame them really... Meetfighters is that space for as long as it's safe, respectful and mutual agreement.
Also, keep in mind a newcomer lacks habits and customs we have. Don't be too harsh on them.

28 days agoI'm a newcomer to this site and to wrestling in general. My experience has been pretty positive overall. I've met some real cool guys here. I struggle to find matches. I'm sure that is partly bc i am new. But also i have reached out to many guys within my travel limit. Barely any of them respond. So before the newcomers get "labeled", it's some vets that seem to cause some newbies to leave. If newbies can't reach out or get matches, why be here.
