Interest Groups in the MeetFighters App
Hello Fighters,
Have you spent days upon days wondering, to the point where the suspense was driving you to the edge of insanity: "when will Interest Groups finally be available in the MeetFighters App"?
Well, our team of ninja app developers have an answer for you! And it is not a bad answer like "never" or a quizzical answer like "When the third seal breaks and the stars align in the shape of a boxing ring". In fact, they have the best answer that you can get to a question like this:
Interest Groups are available in the app... now!
Yay!! Just upgrade to the latest version, and start grouping today.
As always, we also did some smaller enhancements, fixed some bugs and caused some new ones.
Keep on fighting!

18 days agoI don't belong to any Interest Groups, not because I'm not interested in doing so, but because they spam my Inbox on here with messages every time someone posts something. Has this been resolved yet?

It hasn't been resolved because... it was never the case. You get one daily digest for all your groups combined. One! Certainly not every time someone posts something.
And if one daily message is too much for you to bear, then... I'm sorry. You must have much bigger problems than MeetFighters and I hope it all works out in the end!

Thanks for the correction. But I think it would be great if we had the option to not receive any messages from Interest Groups at all. To me, the Inbox is for receiving messages from other members, and the occasional important announcement from Admin.
There is a HUGE difference between receiving a direct message from another user who wants to communicate with you, and a message about a bunch of postings on Discussion boards that may or may not be especially relevant to you. To have them light up that Mailbox icon the same way... well, to me at least, it mainly sets up a feeling of disappointment when it's not what I hoped for.
Why not give us the option to decide whether we want to receive such messages?

The reason is that if you are not curious enough about your groups to gladly appreciate one update, then they are not Interest Groups, but Disinterest Groups. (A completely different feature that is currently not on our roadmap.)
My 37% less sassy answer is that interest groups are only as useful as the discussions and engagement happening on them. They should not be another type of label collecting dust on your profile, but something that you are passionate about. The daily digests are there to help keep the groups engaging and alive.
Our team will resist making them optional to the bitter end. (Seriously, if one message a day can mess up your communication groove, then your groove is in need of some refurbishment.)
EDIT: If you're referring to notifications for individual discussion threads inside Interest Groups, you can subscribe to or unsubscribe from them just like any other thread on MeetFighters. Simply open the thread and use the **(Un)Subscribe** button. You can also review and manage all of your current thread subscriptions in one place here:

TOTALLY agree with you, there is one interest group I am curious enough to actually already check/view almost every day or two but (and so with that) I do not need a DAILY & USELESS SPAM which therefore serves no purpose other than to disappoint me when it's not a "real" (from another user) direct message EXACTLY as you described.
I understand that it is the admin's prerogative to design the site whichever way he deems fit - including "anyone who is not happy can leave" - and I'm happy to stay rather than leave but then not enough to become a contributor towards not merely an unwillingness to consider, but more like an aversion to, alternative perspectives (personally I would think a more accurate gauge of this feature would be to do a poll but oh well).
Anyway so my workaround is when I happen to want to comment on a particular topic there, I would join just to do so and then un-join after that lol!

18 days agoHow do you "upgrade" the app to get this feature. I am gold member does that afford me to get the upgraded app?

It is a free upgrade, you can get it from any Google or Apple app store near you.
See https://www.meetfighters.com/app for the specific links.

13 days agoHi, I’m wondering if there are options on this app to be able to meet with more than one person, for example if you want to see guys wrestle as well as wrestling yourself, is there a group for that on here?
