Hot, Strong, or Skilled?
If your reputation on Meetfighters had to be reduced to a single word, which would you rather it be:
Hot.
Strong.
or Skilled.
Personally, if I had been asked this in my 20s, I probably would have said “hot”. And in my 30s, I would have chosen “strong”.
But now for sure I’d rather be known as skilled because I feel like so many wrestlers now train BJJ, freestyle, grappling or other martial arts. The MF community has evolved a lot lately and for things to be fun, it helps to have at least a little wrestling proficiency.

I know it's cheating, but I think I earn it

No, Maineagle! You have to pick ONE of the THREE! No cheating.

We all know you are nice.
But you are also very strong! And you have definitely earned your skills!

Didn't you just tell me that your shirts are getting tight from all the muscle you've built? Sounds strong 😏

9/04/2026 5:18 PMSkilled, but unfortunately I’m just warm. Not quite hot. Not very skilled either, but more skilled than strong, which I don’t feel like I am at all. Skilled would be my dream.

9/04/2026 5:41 PMI’d say all those terms are relative to who one is being compared against (hot is surely in the eyes of the beholder), and reputations are irrelevant unless someone’s entire sense of self-worth is rooted in external validation… that being said, skilled is likely the most valuable by a long shot.
Strong is probably the least valuable because there are so many examples of it being declared, without needing to quantify it or back it up in any way. For example nearly every guy in my zip code with a huge pickup truck thinks he’s Hercules or the UFC champ… but it’s a lot of braggadocio and beer muscles chest thumping. The number with significant training is likely low. They use who they watch on TV as a proxy for their own imagined “toughness”.
Skill doesn’t have to be loud or beg for the approval of others. It shows in the confidence you use when you navigate a space, the terminology you use casually, even the body mechanics of how you move.
Years of being around highly skilled people I can often tell the blowhards from the quiet but deadly ones right away, and the public images they try to project have nothing to do with it. Often times it might even be the opposite of what people assume. The more real ability one has the more likely they see right through performative behavior.

9/04/2026 6:00 PMStrong!
Asked in my 20's, I would say “strong” – stamina for days.
And in my 30's, I would say “skilled” – already have the strength, now I can add skill.
Don't feel as skilled anymore, but still feel strong and smarter (not part of the option), but smarter helps with keeping strong and using mental strength to figure out your way out of being demolish by a skillful wrestler :).

9/04/2026 7:55 PMI have to add two in my case. Friendly and reliable…being a nature guy hot -10, strong 5 out of 10. Skilled 3 out ot 10.

9/04/2026 11:59 PMIf I had to pick one of those three, strong, because that's something I'm trying to become ANYWAY independently of what I do on MF.
There's more important things than that though. Safe. Respectful. Fun. Interesting.
