AD idf is recommended by Squashlad (1/17/2016)

15-17/01/2016: Had a very instructive series of matches with AD idf at his great home set up when he kindly hosted me in Île-de-France for the weekend. Hopelessly out of my league, I was constantly on the defensive, and it was only a question of whether the sub would be obtained from me quickly. [The other options being "very quickly" and "immediately"!] But that didn't matter as much as it might have, as he's a patient coach, and willingly showed me what I was doing wrong and how to try to improve, so we had plenty of fun grappling. And the skill and coaching was all the more impressive as he's self taught and was operating in a foreign language all weekend, as I'm too lazy to have learnt any French. Off the mats, he's an interesting and witty guy, a kind, generous and attentive host, and a pleasure to spend time with. Very highly recommended and I hope that we can repeat a great wrestling weekend soon.

Sexy ripped fighter, had a great time working each other over. Really hot guy who knows how to wrestle and a cool guy off the mats too. Would definitely recommend this guy and I'm looking forward to more fights with him.

A really lovely guy - incredibly fit, slim and light. I could bench press him with ease and overhead press him. That's not just my strength - he's like a gymnast.

Really lovely guy too.

The Arrow is recommended by Boston Tap (1/17/2016)

I had the pleasure of meeting The Arrow yesterday in the ring at Grove Park for what turned into a hot and sweaty subs match rather than the pro style match I tend to go for nowadays.

The Arrow is solid as a rock, agile and strong and with his 20kg weight advantage I was up against it all the way but as time progressed I made it harder and harder for him to get another tap with some long spells of grappling and struggling to get the upper hand. He managed to get in plenty of subs over the two hours but I did manage to take him by surprise at one point lifting and slamming him into the mat and then locking on a camel clutch - my little bit of pro for the day.

He is very imaginative in creating a submission from nothing and once he locks on a choke hold there is little hope. The Arrow does not tap out easily and I had to work hard for my one submission as he was determined not to tap and I was not going to give up until he did.And yes I wish I was a bit more flexible so I could possibly twist my way out of some of his holds at times to avoid tapping out.

A thoroughly enjoyable afternoon and later in the year it would be good to meet up again in the ring do some pro style training and then have a full pro style bout. With his agility, strength and speed I think he would be very good at it.

The arrow was reliable, polite and easy to make arrangements with. I look forward to meeting him again at some point later in the year.

Boston Tap is recommended by The Arrow (1/17/2016)

Met Boston Tap today for a ring bout in Grove Park for what I think was meant to originally be a pro match. Although there was a smattering of pro moves in there, mostly from Tap, it naturally morphed into more of a good-natured but non-stop subs match for 2 hours. Tap is a gentleman and went to a lot of effort to get the tap and was probably feeling more frustrated with my refusal to tap than he showed. He knows a bit about the art of pro wrestling and perhaps another time we'll slow things down a bit to give him the chance to show me what he's capable of.

As the match progressed he increased the energy and tenacity in search of that elusive tap and wasn't shy about landing a few well-placed body shots to try and put a stop to my efforts to dominate the match. As well as getting me in a camel at one point, he managed one really cracking choke that crushed my neck between his surprisingly strong thighs (getting him that tap he was trying so hard for!) and what I really enjoyed was the amount of footwork that crept into the match from both sides. One of the most fast-footed matches that, being in the ring, allowed me to use more of the acrobatic style of fighting that I enjoy from my Kendo days, but cannot use when wrestling in a room or on a mattress. I think I may have unleashed my heel side a little in this match too, which added to the fun.

Boston Tap organised this match a while back, checked in now and then during the wait and was a pleasure to meet. I just think we both wish he was a little more flexible ;P

One of the most competitive opponents I've ever faced. I seriously learned a lot from this guy. He really pushed me to want to up my grappling game. Nice guy off the mats too. Very safety conscious, which I appreciate. Hope to get another match in with him in the future.

Fun times wrestling with wrestlebob. Because of our size he was the heel. He plays the part well. I recommend him and look forward to a rematch.
