Derek is a really great guy - the perfect host, friendly, very fit, extremely easy to get along with and someone who loves his wrestling. We wrestled in oil and despite the size difference, I had a great time. He is safe and sane and very adaptable to the needs of his opponent - one of my best ever wrestling experiences. Thanks a lot D - highly recommended ! I definitely hope to meet him again.

Tough Portuguese bull! This is how i often refer him to others. Strong hands and tough oponent, great sweat, learned his way quick in BJJ. I Feel lucky and honored to have come across such great guy during my extended stay in Lisbon. Have wrestled him a few times, competitvely also, as we were training BJJ.

Great fun to wrestle in very long bout. Made me submit lots of times and vice versa. Looking forward to Round 2 and recommend him as a genuine friendly guy and a fun wrestler

Slick is a great guy, loud mouth jobber who loves to get beat down. He does "try" and put up a good fight, but against me, he is kid trying to play in a mans game!

On the mats he's a strong, competent and skilled opponent. He knows what he wants and has the know-how to do it. Very respectful of his opponent. We've had a couple of private matches but, since we train bjj at the same academy, we've logged on a few hours on the tatame.
Outside the mats he's a great guy. I feel lucky to call him a friend.
Challenge him if you have the chance, or accept his challenge if he contacts you.

Relaxed and great guy out of the mat. Very strong with powerfull legs (and incredible scissors) on the mat! We had a good and sweaty match...

He's a competitive wrestler on the mat, and a funny guy outside. Cool guy to hang out with – although I would have to admit it was nice to be able to dominate him, given his weight advantage. :) Better take advantage while he does not have that much experience yet. :)
