It was very pleasant to get to know Matwix. He is in great shape, has a lot of strength and skills and uses it sensitively. It was an entertaining, hot and playful fight, and a nice meeting with him as a person.

Was awesome to connect. Was easy to talk to and really nice guy. Had a good sparring session with a few rounds. Bro is solid. We didn’t go crazy but I felt like my punches bounced of him. He had good pressure and infighting and landed some good shots. Looking forward to another training session with him

For my next New England conquest, I crossed state lines into Rhode Island (“Little Rhody” in local lore). Unfortunately for me, there was nothing “little” about my opponent. RhodyRaybo has a formidable brickhouse physique, a huge warrior’s heart, an inexhaustible wrestling arsenal, and a long MeetFighter’s history littered with misguided opponents in search of an easy victory. I held my own, but for every offensive move, RhodyRaybo had an even more effective counter. (I suspect he was toying with me.) Out of desperation, I attempted an obscure sleeper hold, which I discovered (by pure luck) was RhodyRaybo’s Achille’s heel. But even applying the sleeper with all my strength, he did not tap. I limped away, tail between my legs, without a victory - - but I left Rhode Island as a better wrestler. RhodyRaybo was among the first wrestlers to welcome me to New England after my move north. He is an exceptional host, and truly loves wrestling and the camaraderie that MeetFighters fosters.

David is something of a legend on the Belgian wrestling scene and I finally had the pleasure of meeting him at one of his (very well organised) open mat sessions in Mechelen. In the past, I have had opponents who have figuratively wiped the floor with me (or to whom I have done the same), but David literally did – at least, he could have done had I been wearing absorbent clothing. Within seconds of us locking up, he had me on my back on the mat, sliding around all over the place. I did a reasonable job of defending myself such that he was only able to get one submission out of me in the six intense minutes of wrestling we had before the whistle went and it was time to switch partners. It was clear that he is a very able wrestler and very safety-minded, so you'll be quite safe in his hands whatever your level of ability.

T1978 joined our open mats in Mechelen. He has a strong body and knows how to move and defend in a safe and controlled way.

Our match was very exciting to me because he made me work hard. I was not able to use my go-to techniques, and he pushed me to try some of the moves that I do not use that often.

I had an incredibly sexy matchup with Justforfighting. He is a strong, sexy guy and easy to plan with. His body and power doesn’t disappoint!

We traded gut punches both flexed and unflexed. Wrestled. And ultimately he was alpha. It was primal. I’d go another round with him anytime…after a few days recovery from some deep punches! Highly recommended. He’s respectful of limits and we matched energy well. A great guy all around.

Don't be misled by Modus's wiry frame: on the mats, he's a strong, tough guy who will give you a serious run for your money. In a quick-fire, four-minute bout at the open mat session in Mechelen, neither of us (if I remember correctly) was able to get a submission out of the other (or maybe he got one out of me – not sure; it was one of several matches I had that afternoon), but I certainly had to work very hard. Competent, safe, sane, and not out to win at any cost – everything I look for in an opponent.

It was a pleasure to meet Musclefan at the open mat in Mechelen. Our time-limited match ended in a no-score draw, but we both worked very hard and he comfortably resisted my body scissors. Once the event was over, we had a very pleasant chat over dinner, spanning a range of languages and subjects. I hope we meet again.
