BackToPro and I have chatted for at least a year so it was great to be able to finally meet when he got to Vancouver. He has done a lot of travelling and wrestling over the past 2+ months. Where does he get the energy? Communication with him was very clear and prompt so arranging this meet was a breeze.
BackToPro claimed to be worn down with a few aches and cuts and bruises. Not surprising with all of the wrestling he's done. I volunteered to job for him. He was quick to accept. Was I set up? Once I donned pink trunks of his, the squash was on. All of his wrestling his has not been for naught; this guy knows his holds. He is very inventive and very safe.
I am glad my recommendations for other locals for him to wrestle have turned out so well. I definitely had a great time during our two hours together. He is a very interesting guy to talk to. Some of these conversations did seem to occur while I was being turned into a human pretzel so I apologize that I wasn't always as talkative as him. I recommend him and hope that we can wrestle again!

I can highly recommend nycguy86 to anyone. He is kind, smart, handsome and arranging a meeting was super easy.
Due to time issues we only had a very short but intense and fun match in Krakow. But despite us rushing we got into time trouble to reach ensuing scheduled meetings with friends. In the end both of us were leaving the hotel running. 😅
Would always meet you again, enjoy ur holidays in amazing Poland!

Met this talented grappling beginner at the Fight Club at Boss Buben and ended up with a tie. Recommend to the fighter community.

Fought this fierce grappler of surprising submission techniques at the Fight Club for two rounds! Haven’t had enough of it and recommend him to the fighter community.

Fought this grappler of passion, poise, and pride! Haven’t had enough of it, wanna keep him to myself, but have to recommend him to the fighter community! Wish I could show him more of what I learn soon

Chipo Zhang is a very energetic opponent. I had the pleasure of facing him at the monthly Fight Club in Berlin. He is highly skilled and fast, which made it difficult for me to defend effectively. I’m really looking forward to our next match.

His style. Energy. The straight up talent and skill. That confident, sweet-snarky vibe. There's simply no fighter with his charisma. I told Julian Chang I'd have gone to Ottawa just for him.
Things aligned when I hosted in Vancouver, where I was honored he chose to share his afternoon. To heel JC, as his profile states, an opponent has to earn it. So I further initiated him by expanding his pro arsenal. From a highly effective ab stretch to rolling him up to trapping him in a sustained crucified, four tap outs (followed by a "better luck next time" soft slap) fueled those BJJ eyes. He 180-ed.
I gritted my teeth and tried not to yelp while handing him nine or ten consecutively brutal submissions. This is one of those matches where fits of laughter get you through the fun pain: where you tough it out and then some, locking wrestle faces and then easing up into happy smiles between blasts of sheer force. For three a half hours, I really got acquainted those smooth-steel thighs clamped around my side. All the while, he stared down with a point blank smile.
"Suffer for me... "
Ah... WOOF.
Safe, respected and communicated, the match also provided a first, but what happened was entirely on me. Leading up to our meet, I took an errant fist to the mouth. When JC had me in a headscissors, of course, I encourage the man to go for it. My lip opened. After he washed off his leg and I cleaned my face, neck and shoulder, I coagulated. We reset. And kept going like nothing happened. You know... it was kind of cool. :)
A hug at the door and another one on the street. A bucket list opponent – and an all around shining star – to be sure.

We finally got the chance to meet up on my last night in Vancouver.
As others have attested, NJW77 is a lovely gent. We compared notes on the competition and our MF experience, then talked dogs and travel. Kudos to him for turning me onto a strategy my next time through Japan, exploring regions outside Tokyo and Osaka where solid opponents await.
Surprisingly – as in how our opponents not seeking out this guy more – it'd been a while since his last match. So we found a workable intensity where I happily heeled and he happily jobbed. Attacking those hamstrings. Pulling on that neck. Wrecking those calves. Crushing those sides. Incredibly, his greatest resistance came when he was all pretzeled in a full-on abdominal stretch.
It was an ideal finish this time through BC. Thank you, NJW77.

We met at the Fight Club, 4 June, 2026 and stopped in time before any shit might happen. Do NOT underestimate his weight, strength, and competitiveness because of all of his big smiles and friendly talking. Was awed by and slightly afraid of him before last night but now would never hesitate to start some conversation with him on and off the mat. Peace and long life~
