Recommendations

Accepting a match with a guy who has hundreds of Past Opponents is nothing new for me, but it's also a recipe for potential disaster, especially when they come from Europe. So when NewsTravel showed interest in a mud wrestling match during NYC WrestleFest 2025, I knew that I would not have an easy time of it.

Thankfully, like some many of his contemporaries with over 300 matches, NewsTravel is both easy to communicate with and very humble about his experiences and willingness to meet other real wrestlers. So I looked forward to his arrival at the Mud Wrestling Pit!

Wrestling him was like taking on myself really. He's extremely hard to move around, and he thinks almost exactly as I do. Despite the weight difference, he was rarely willing to get taken down. Thankfully, so am I, and so we spent most of our wrestling hour out-maneuvering each other, escaping holds and takedown attempts. The Before and After pics say it all!

So in the end, another frustrating stalemate but, these days, that earns a fair amount of respect from me, and I think from him in my direction. Our conversation was free-flowing and of a similar mind, with him talking about having matches in over 100 countries and my 3 decades of experiences. This is a man and a fellow wrestler I'd gladly chat up again, just for his willingness to get in the mud and wrestle to exhaustion, especially since his Argentinian-colored speedo now rests in my Trophy Collection! 💪😈 ¡Muchas gracias, y buena suerte!

Like wrestling a brick wall. Strong, safe sane and knows his stuff. More fun and laughs along with great one on one contact. We traded holds and stories about people we both know. A great time with a great person. Give this bruiser a call. You'll be happy you did.

Alan's an awesome guy! I had a short layover in Singapore and he graciously reached out and hosted our impromptu match. He made it easy to communicate and schedule our meet up despite me being a tourist and had to delay up to an hour.

We had a very fun and sweaty grappling match. He is still in very good shape and can grapple and pin me down easily even with our 10kg weight variance. Alan is also an amazing guru and fixed my armbar execution among other moves. Off the mat, he is very friendly and knowledgeable, highly recommended to everybody visiting SG! I sincerely hope he will reach back to his 300+ opponents soon.

Did not get the chance to meet this stud over the weekend but he was kind enough to let me box his fiance Eric who shared the same interest. Eric was incredible as a boxer and knows how to fight. Cub Boxer is a kind amazing guy online and look forward to meeting him in the near future. Both these guys are studs and an incredible opportunity to connect with them!

This gentleman told me he'd "give me a chance to beat up an old man." Little did I know, this "old man" is strong and fast as hell. We had a spontaneous, short but intense match, and it was a blast. If you're seeking an aggressive yet safe encounter, don't miss the opportunity to meet this beast.

Had the pleasure of meeting g up with this guy and boy was it a treat. This small fuzzy guy is super tough and even though I had some weight and height on him... I couldn't do a thing to him (not that I didn't like that). What a friendly, nice, handsome guy. I can't sing mcic's praises enough.

Met SpandexGrappler today and he is one tall and strong man! He came off the elevator and I knew this would be a tough match. He is the nicest guy and made me feel at ease immediately. He is well trained in bjj so we had a fun time doing some no gi. He is safe and competitive; it was a fun sweaty chess match Our match was shorter than I would have liked due to time constraints; however, we look forward to round 2 soon! He is a must wrestle if you have the chance to roll with him!

I missed wrestling OAKPromis at the wrestle fest in Canada due to having to leave early. So it was fitting that our paths crossed at the wrestle fest in NYC. He hosted a few of us for some grappling. When he came down to greet us, I was taken a back by what a mountain of muscle he is! He is the nicest guy and made the grappling a lot of fun! He is strong, athletic, and has nice basic mat skills. I hope we can get another round in down the road. It was a fun session of grappling - nothing better than getting on the mats with good folks like OAK! I highly recommend wrestling this muscle beast!

It was quite easy to arrange a meeting with Armybob at his great fighting facility. We were very keen to meet even though we knew we were not 100% in the same style.
It was so worth it we made it! From the start we had an intense fight in judogis on the mats - with Armybob convincingly showing that he is a very tough fighter and clearly superior due to his fighting experience and skills.
Despite my best efforts to fight back, I was forced to submit several times - resulting in some severe punishments for my defeat.
Great fun!
