Recommendations

Ibearian manifests two very stark contrasts. First is that he is a super affable, sociable, approachable, and overall friendly guy. He is an easy guy to talk to, and feels like someone I'd known for years complete with inside jokes. Second is his wrestling form: when he gets in the wrestling trunks in the ring, he morphs into an aggressive, surprisingly nimble beast. Ask him about his powerful lunge tackle - I would have rather not pulled guard with a man as big as he is, but what choice do you have when he rushes you? He has not only good weight placement to pin you down, but is also skilled enough to pull off armbars and a few select submissions. In fact, I tapped out to an armbar. It was an absolute delight to have fought him, and I very much hope for more matches down the line once injuries have healed!

ChiWrestler is a charming fella with great stories and narratives, and is a super nice guy to hang out with. That is, until he gets you in the ring and sprawls over you as he deepens his headlock! As I later learned, his previous name included the word "Pinned" and it was very apparent he knew a thing or two about pinning you down. During our match, I was unsuccessful x 6 sweep attempts, as he continued to apply some serious pressure pinning me down, and adjusting easily to each of my attempts to knock him off. Eventually I got a hold on him, but for the good 5 minutes, he dominated positioning over me. His prior training in freestyle definitely shows. Very much recommend him, and hoping to meet up again another time.

sfBruce and I had been looking to meet over multiple episodes of traveling, and finally we hit the same city on the same date. He is a super tenacious grappler. And while he says he has no formal training, he has an instinctual method to block, sweep, and counter quite a few moves during our 16-min no-break submission match up. Suffice to say, it was a 0-0, stopped literally because of a loud car unrelated to our match. Buff, tough, and a stalwart man to the end, he is resilience personified. He is a self-described introvert and yet easy to chat with after the match. I enjoyed meeting and wrestling sfBruce, and I hope for a rematch at another date soon.

I had a chance to meet Hacksaw out of the blue in his home town, and boy, he did not disappoint. He is a funny, warm, and pleasant guy to know, and just a delight of a person to hang out with. On the mats, he is a damn fun wrestler. He is quick to crank on a headlock and keep at it for minutes as needed, and is a persistent fighter. We wrestled after he had already had multiple opponents, and he still kept going strong. Hacksaw has one of those thick beefy builds that showcases his strength during a match, and it definitely shows. Can't wait to meet up again and try to get him to submit!

Edit 02.11.2023 - A rematch in the rings, and still haven't gotten him to submit. Super strong and explosive out of the gates, he'll tackle you down before you know it. Super nice man off the ring / mats, but once he steps foot, watch out. Highly recommend!

Ricksf was a great wrestler. We got together fortuitously with short notice and open schedules and got a strong hotel match outside of MeetFighters. Strong with good holds and bear hugs! He came prepared with multiple gear types. Hope to see him back again for a rematch!

Edit 02.11.2023 - Still feisty, strong, and scrappy as ever, Ricksf and I had a fun rematch in the Santa Ana Ring. Suffice to say, he more than delivered. His prior training in freestyle definitely shows when he keeps you pinned if you're not careful. Loved getting my hands on him again and getting control. Highly recommend this super fun man.

Sometimes I forget how formidable the combination of technical wrestling skills & a 250lb slab of beef is! Justir is a stand-up guy, easy to arrange a match and an excellent communicator. He's a big force of power and control in a singlet and can toss me around like no tomorrow. He has technical skills, which makes his ability to throw his weight around, very dangerous, and I unfortunately got only one tap out of him out of his several ( I lost count) on me. He is a very persistent beefcake that makes you work for every tap and pin, and might even playfully taunt you when your triangle choke is just a little off and less effective than anticipated... (of course it happened). Justir is a stand-up guy, and knows how to manhandle you safely but aggressively. Charming and polite out of the ring, but be careful when you're in it, as he'll go after you for many minutes for his submission! A great challenge and hope to meet again soon.

Edit 02.11.2023: Had a chance to make up for my earlier loss(es) against Justir and worked really hard to flip him into a submission, but damn, this boy is so tough and getting even better. Thanks for another chance to rumble. Highly recommend.

Filing this a little late, but Brownbear90 was my first match on this site back in December and he made it such a great experience! Not only did he put up with, and even help me set up, my janky borrowed mat setup, but he was extremely polite, sociable and respectful. Not to mention a strong and skilled wrestler; I knew in advance that a 50-lb handicap would be a challenge but his stamina was fierce and by the third round of grappling it was all I could manage just to hold myself off the ground. Despite having a clear advantage in strength, stamina and weight, he was extremely attentive to safety and frequently checked in with me to make sure I was ok. A true sportsman and skilled wrestler. If every person I grapple with through MeetFighters in the future is like him, I would count myself extremely lucky. 11/10 would wrestle again at a moment’s notice.

There are so many good things to say about this strong man. He is definitely one of the kindest people on this site. An extremely good communicator and very thoughtful. Among other things we had an interesting conversation about life :-) He definitely made me think!

Talking about wrestling... It was a lot of fun with him. To start with, I got cocky and I challenged him to arm wrestle (LOL). OF COURSE I didn't have any chances to win, but I just wanted to see those biceps in tension, haha. Like he described, I tried to have a fun and original match with him and since we were laughing the whole time, I think I succeeded ;-)

Beyond the wrestling scene, he is a super nice guy that enjoys good music and wine. He was extremely helpful when I was looking for a place in San Diego, and he also gave tips about things to do. I appreciate the time and the interest he put in meeting me when I was in San Diego. ¡Muchas gracias!

Meet him around sept 2022. Back then his body is leaner compared to now which has become bigger. He does have the courage, strength and stamina to fight someone bigger than him. Not easy for me to make him tap. He will fight back whenever u try to hold him down. Do meet him if u have the chance to do so. I believe with his current physical body, he is much stronger than before.

Missed out Curiousboi last time so I am glad this time we made it happen. Don't let this boy's innocent look and cute face trick you cuz he is a real deal! I presumed that we would have a pretty even match but it turned out one year of Jiu Jitsu training with some fighter instinct had given him what it takes to dominate. Had an awesome fun time with him and couldn't wait for the round two!
