15/04/2018: There is something about the confidence of a guy who opens his front door to you in nothing but his underwear that tells you that you're going to have a great match. Still, if I had a physique like that I'd probably show it off too: there are ocean liners with less beam then maw1667's musclecub shoulders. So it was straight down to action in his box room, and unsurprisingly I was totally dominated—although I was hardly complaining! He doesn't just rely on his size and strength though: although I was demolished with a few nice bodyslams he's a surprisingly technical wrestler for such a powerhouse, and thinks through what he's doing to maintain control, so we had a good fun grapple. Although it was straight into the action he's a chatty and hospitable guy, always careful to ensure that his guest is having a good time, and it was very enjoyable to spend the morning with him after our match, walking his schnauzer (who's almost as cute as his dad), exploring the area, drinking too much coffee and generally putting the world to rights. Safe and sane when wrestling, friendly and interesting when not, maw1667 was a complete pleasure to meet and wrestle and I hope to get a rematch with him sooner rather than later.

ukfighter is a very powerful and gentle opponent, we are not at the same level, but I still enjoy his technical submission holds, and he is very careful in order to avoid injury, so if you want to meet him but afraid he is too strong, I tell you that is unnecessary, he will not let you down.

11/04/2018: It was great to get a match in with JackBC while he's just starting out in wrestling as his size, strength and enthusiasm mean that he's soon going to be a real handful and too much for an old man like me! It was very easy to arrange a match with him and he turned up right on time. He's very easy to talk to: indeed if you're not really in the mood for conversation he'll happily do that for you. His height does make him a bit of a challenge to control but he's not the lanky inexperienced sort who's all flailing limbs, he's a controlled and thoughtful wrestler who is looking to improve. He was very tolerant of my preference for submission, which was therefore most of our match, but we did a little bit of pro for fun too. He's got a very expressive face—he really would be great on the radio—so it was occasionally fun to tie some painful knots in him, but he's by no means a pushover, and in a rematch he may well take his revenge. Safe, sane, fun and funny, JackBC is highly recommended.

09/04/2018: A good sweaty match with Motbridge11 at the Walthamstow ring was just the thing to liven up a dull Monday at the office. It was very easy to arrange a match with him and he turned up bang on time, letting us make the most of the booking, and is one of those guys whom you take an instant liking to, being all big smiles and a sense of fun. He does like jobbing, so I was in a rather unaccustomed rôle as heel, but he's not the dead fish type, he fights back and wrestles properly, and his gym regime means that he's got a good level of baseline strength and plenty of power when he needs it, so we had a good fun match, and left the ring definitely needing a mopping! (Which of course it got.) Interesting to chat to between submissions, safe and sane on the mats, this nice guy is highly recommended and a must for a rematch sooner rather than later.

06/04/2018: I was privileged enough to be included on Magnum JP's packed fight card on his latest trip to Europe and was really pleased that I was as we had an excellent match at the Grove Park ring. The bout was very easy to arrange with him and he is a very courteous and charming guy, easy and fun to chat to despite him having to do everything in my language thanks to my embarrassingly monoglot status. In the ring I had thought that my extra height would give me an edge, and it was certainly very useful, but this was no easy match: Magnum JP is in superb shape, and the muscles aren't just for show. He shares my taste for a bit of the rough stuff, so when he got on top you certainly knew about it! Always entirely safe, sane and respectful of his opponent though. So no doubts that this is a guy whom you want a rematch with and who comes very highly recommended: but if there had been, a parting gift of a big hug, his huge warm smile and a generous present from Japan of some delicious green tea chocolates would have fixed that! How can you not like an opponent who gives you presents just for wrestling him? A must-meet if he is in your town and I hope I can wrestle him again sooner rather than later.

24/03/2018: Hotel room matches are always a bit frustrating, and when you're tackling a tall, very strong guy who, like you, wants to get really stuck in, that's particularly the case, so we both knew within a few minutes of locking up that a rematch at a more appropriate venue would need to be arranged. That said, we made the best of what was available, and it was a very enjoyable way to spend a Saturday morning. The match was no bother at all to arrange, and birmingham uk fighter came as billed: a safe, sane, pleasant and intelligent guy who was interesting to chat to before the grappling began—and then a real handful. He didn't seem handicapped by his night on the tiles that he'd not that long since got back in from and his strength was very evident, getting me locked up nicely in lots of punishing holds. Subs went both ways and we had a good sweaty battle, concluded only but all too soon by his need to check out of the room. Hopefully therefore we can resume shortly somewhere more matted and spacious! Highly recommended.
