Hi my wrestling friends!

I'm extremely sad as the wrestling ring and facilities in Manchester will be no more.

I loved holding group meets there, the few that I did, and made some good friends.

There seems nowhere else to go, apart from London which I've never been there to wrestle. I guess many of you from Manchester don't want to travel there as it's too far.

It's not an easy decision but for the moment I have to stop my group meets until I can work something out.

Is this finally the end of the Welsh Dragon?

Yeah same here ....I'm NE and travel Newcastle to Manchester for the ring which is an easy journey car or train

Not wanting to travel down to London so hoping the Manchester ring may be saved if anyone takes it on

But if not, im hoping I haven't wrestled my last ring match, without even knowing it.

I hope it’s not the Wrestling Factory?

Venue closes its doors on 31 March, got that info from Pippa herself.

See my blog page (all current details on there), there is likely within 6-8 weeks another venue with a ring opening up in the West Mids.

Not quite Manchester for those who use that place, but not all the way to London either.

Thanks for this, Stephen. Following this with interest, especially if Pippa can't find a buyer. Thanks for drawing this to everyone's attention. (Neil).

The Wrestling Factory was on my bucket list. I know Pippa has been in the industry for a long time and has done much for female wrestling! Sad day!😭😭

👍🏼

Thanks Stephen.

Do you or anyone have any information on a cage in Walsall or wrestling facilities for hire in Birmingham?

The cage is UK Wrestling Hub in Birmingham (or nearby)

It's ran by members EC and JC Extreme on here I believe

MMA cage is located next to the fetish venue called The Facility in Walsall.

Cage used to, or maybe still does, is/was owned and ran by a bloke called Mitch. When he was not there, the owners of The Facility (John & Helen) would take the bookings for it.

The Facility has a top floor fetish room has a long wide top floor room. The BDSM furniture is against the walls and it leaves a big enough space for wrestling in, and I believe the owners have mats too. I've filmed several matches in that room. If anyone wants to send me a message with an email, I'll send some pics.

There is another venue in West Bromwich called Xtasia. This is an adult nightclub, fetish/dungeon venue, hotel and pub. They have multiple fetish rooms that can be used and the nightclub area, and mats too. Again I've filmed there on several occasions and Paul the owner has always been a delight to deal with, though he has a Manager now (Chris) who deals with bookings. Again, If anyone wants to send me a message with an email, I'll send some pics.

Plus the venue has mentioned in my blog is now open for mat matches too, they are awaiting the ring which is expected in 6-8 weeks.

So the West Mids does have plenty of scope for venues, so literally will be the geographical and venue centre for arranged matches/group meets in the future.

And don't forget in London, Iain Scott still has Grove Park. Yes the ring was sold, but he still has a venue with mats and is probably the best value, no nonsense (or facilities) place in the UK. And is a top bloke and a ex pro and coach too.

That's all really helpful, thanks. I'll email you. I didn't know Iain still had his mats down - such a tragedy, his selling the ring (my favourite venue) - I'll look at that: as you say, no-nonsense, wrestling is for him what it is for the rest of us, and not looking to make big profit.

Sorry to report that Iain confirms that his Grove Park place is most definitely closed. It no longer exists as a venue and he takes no bookings.

Just read the notice its definitely a sad day as it was a great venue run by a lovely person. I hope someone does take it over as it would be a shame not to have a northwest venue.
