Jobbing (for real)
I had an interesting chat last weekend at Toronto WF with a well known content creator. He was recently downsized from his corporate role and was now searching for a new job. Given how well known he is in this wrestling world, I asked if he had tried to leverage his network of MF friends.
I asked “You know hundreds of wrestlers. Have you asked any of them if they know of any potential job leads?”
He said the had not done that. And he didn’t think that was really an option. Though he admitted it might be a good idea given that wasting time sending resumes wasn’t particularly productive. But he wondered if asking for help in this way might appear unseemly. Or just strange.
This is because most of us who use this platform keep a certain arms distance from our opponents’ “real lives”. Often, we don’t even know each others real names - to say nothing of our careers, vocations, or jobs.
But I urged him to consider it. “Lots of guys love you. I’m sure they’d be happy to help you out in any way they could,” I noted.
Being unemployed can be horribly traumatic. It reduces all of us to panic and fear and is one of the worst stressful experiences in life. I hear that most job hunters are encouraged to utilize their networks to land interviews because so much of the 2026 labor market is “frozen” right now.
So, this got me wondering:
“Would you ever consider using your MF network to help you find a job?”

15 days agoIt's absolutely okay to get a job by any way we can. I know lots of wrestlers that have helped others with jobs and rooms to rent. Maybe not specific references but people know of places that are hiring.

And not just employment, occasionally housing as well eh.

15 days agoGreat post. Your network on MF are colleagues so asking them is entirely appropriate. You never know.

14 days agoThat’s funny that you post this because it was just a week ago I was thinking the same thing. I was not getting the applicants I wanted on a position I have posted for a hotel here in Vegas. It crossed my mind “what would happen if I could post it on here”. An interview you meet someone for maybe 30 minutes, but after you roll with someone you kind of get to know a little more about that person.
Good question!!

13 days agoI did just that and i even offered to look out for jobs that i came across that could be useful for those in my WF/MF network who is looking for it. When a person is desperately needing a job to survive the economy, any help is needed.
