What was I thinking? I challenged this guy at the open mat in Mechelen. I should have known that it would go wrong. His smile, the fire in his eyes. Oh, poor me. He showed me every corner of the mat.
The truth? Indeed he dominated me. But it was a fun and respectful fight with a lovely guy.
Come on guys. Take the chance when you can to fight wrestlingguy.

Ryan is such nice and lovely boy! Although missing to roll with him last time in Mechelen, I didn’t let the opportunity go away this time in the open mats event. He is serious and technical on the mats, well put the pressure and got control of the fight. It was an intense round and he has explosive power to dominate the match. Outside the mats, he is easy going and very pleasant to chat with although sometimes a bit shy 😉 See you very soon again in the next event! Cheers 😁

We went for a roll at the open mat in Mechelen. En really. He is skilled and strong. But he adapts to your level and reacts in the way you fight him. Next time again, I hope?

Although chatting for a while, finally I met Alex333 during the open mats event in Mechelen. He is agile and particularly strong 💪 which corresponds to his nicely shaped and muscled body. Off the mats he is nice to talk with while having a drink or a meal. Wish you all the best and maybe see you again soon!

JimInQueens is a solid skilled wrestler, and he walked me through a few holds. I’m still very much a rookie, and he adjusted enough without going too easy. It was a fun meeting, and he’s strong and a super nice guy.

He asked me to roll with him on the open mat in Mechelen. Even though he looks bit heavier and stronger than I do I said yes let's try, since he asked me very nicely. It was great fun to wrestle with him and time has flown very quickly. I am happy we had the opportunity and sad we didnt repeat. I hope there will be another open mat this year we could match up again or next summer. Off the mat he likes to talk a lot, I am much more shy :-). It was definitely a nice time and a good memory.

It was a pleasure to meet this great fighter during the open mats event in Mechelen. He is strong and powerful on the mats with good skills and experience in the pocket. On the other side he is very kind, respectful and takes care of his sparring partner. Couldn’t wait to meet and roll with him again soon! 👍

We met at the open mat in Mechelen, and it was a enjoyable surprise that we had the chance to roll. For quite some while I thought he is too busy and not interested to fight with me, so I am glad we had finally the opportunity. I liked very much to fight with this guy, he is skilled, fair and a nice training partner. It was a pity we couldnt fight on the second open mat day, I would have loved it. Back in February, Bamm-Bamm definitely set the scene, menacingly scooting towards me from the other side of the mat before tying my poor white belt self up in knots and I knew from there we were going to have some fantastic matches going forward.

And now here we are, at that forward, the rolls were a little less one sided but he still has that strength and technique to keep me on the defensive.

I'm sure with strikes I'll be back to the first match in terms of survivability, but despite all this talk about how he's very good and very strong, don't let that put you off, he's only imposing when you want him to be, and with others in the open mat he was encouraging them to be more aggressive, helping out, and full of advice and encouragement!

A real laugh too, stories to tell, and very easy to wind up 😜, can have a real chat during a roll, immediately feel at ease for sure.
