My match with FenwayFighter has been long in the making. Our schedules finally aligned and we were able to get on the mats. We had an intense and sweaty match. He is athletic, resilient, and strong! It was a ton of fun and left both of us wanting a round 2. As this guy learns more technique he will be even more of a challenge than he already is! He is easy to chat with between rounds and his trash talk simmers slightly as he tires during the match! 😉 Overall, it was a great workout with a genuinely nice guy! I highly recommend wrestling FenwayFighter!

Hedloker was one of my first opponents during the open mats in Mechelen this weekend — and a great one to start the day with.

It was my first time at an open mats event, so there was definitely a bit of healthy tension in my head, especially with so much experience on the mats. He immediately stood out as one of the more seasoned guys, and that showed in a very positive way: controlled, relaxed and easy to engage with.

Without me even saying anything, he helped set me at ease and find my rhythm from the start.

Would definitely enjoy rolling with him again at future events.

Modus brings a very relaxed and easygoing approach to the mats, which made it genuinely fun to roll with him from the start.

We had already chatted a bit beforehand and agreed to share a round during the open mats in Mechelen — glad we did. At one point I managed to capitalise on an opening, but he adjusted quickly and found his way back into the exchange right after, which made it all the more enjoyable.

Great energy, playful but engaged style. Curious to see how a next round would unfold.

Centaur has a wonderfully outspoken personality, both on and off the mats, which makes rolling with him a great experience from the start.

We had a really enjoyable and engaging round. He managed to force a mistake in my defense and capitalised on it, but what stood out was how attentive he remained to keep things safe and respectful throughout.

It’s opponents like him — who can push you into those moments — that motivate me to become stronger, more technical and better overall.

Already looking forward to seeing him again in Belgium in September… and seeing how far I’ve come by then 😉

With someone as experienced as GrapplingHB, it’s hard to add much that hasn’t already been said.

What stood out to me from our first (and unfortunately only) round in Mechelen was his controlled approach. He gave me, as a white belt, the space to think, move and work on technique, which made it feel like the kind of technical chess game I really enjoy so much in grappling.

Being able to maintain control while still allowing your partner to develop their own game is a beautiful quality and makes him a great person to roll with. A pity we only had one round :)

Battlefox is probably one of the more well-known names around here and it was about time our paths crossed.

We have quite different styles, which made for a really interesting round. Almost a bit of a “water and fire” contrast. That clash actually made it more engaging and left me wanting more.

He brings a very distinct approach, especially in how he uses his legs to create pressure, which caught my attention and pushed me to think differently about my own game.

Always interesting to meet someone who challenges you in a new way :)

Our round at the open mats this weekend was short, as these things often are, but it definitely left me curious for more.

Despite his blue belt level, Trapdoor adapted smoothly and rolled in a very controlled and thoughtful way. It’s clear he knows exactly what he’s doing.

The exchange felt a bit like an introduction and slightly exploratory from both sides but in a good way. The kind of round that hints there’s more to discover with time. Feels like someone I could have longer, more evolving rounds with and can only recommend meeting him.

I really enjoyed sparring with Harris bxl in Mechelen. He’s very talented and knows how to move well on the mat, always staying in control. I’d love to spar with him again at the next meetup. I’m sure he’ll have picked up a lot of new techniques by then. Off the mat, he’s also a very pleasant person to talk to. I highly recommend him.

His look might come across as quite tough at first glance, but he is a very easy, down to earth and pleasant person to talk to off the mats. On the mat, he combines his strength with solid techniques, which made it an interesting challenge to try to find the right counters.

Definitely recommended if you’re looking for an engaging match.

The open mats in Mechelen were a perfect opportunity to meet LeanMachine BE. Somehow we had never chatted before, even though his profile had been on my radar for a while.

We had a really enjoyable round. I managed to capitalise on a moment where he gave up his back, but overall it felt like a well-balanced exchange that could easily have developed further with more time.

We didn’t really get the chance to talk off the mats, but the roll itself definitely left me curious for more.
