We traded gut punches both flexed and unflexed. Wrestled. And ultimately he was alpha. It was primal. I’d go another round with him anytime…after a few days recovery from some deep punches! Highly recommended. He’s respectful of limits and we matched energy well. A great guy all around.

Don't be misled by Modus's wiry frame: on the mats, he's a strong, tough guy who will give you a serious run for your money. In a quick-fire, four-minute bout at the open mat session in Mechelen, neither of us (if I remember correctly) was able to get a submission out of the other (or maybe he got one out of me – not sure; it was one of several matches I had that afternoon), but I certainly had to work very hard. Competent, safe, sane, and not out to win at any cost – everything I look for in an opponent.

It was a pleasure to meet Musclefan at the open mat in Mechelen. Our time-limited match ended in a no-score draw, but we both worked very hard and he comfortably resisted my body scissors. Once the event was over, we had a very pleasant chat over dinner, spanning a range of languages and subjects. I hope we meet again.

hedloker by name, head locker by nature. After years of trying to meet up and missing each other, I finally had the pleasure of meeting hedloker uk at the open mat in Mechelen. He proved himself to be a very able wrestler, proficient in a variety of different head locks, as his name suggests. Off the mats he is very pleasant to talk to.

Matty and I chatted for a while and got snowed out once before finally meeting up and it was definitely worth the wait. He is kind, strong, talented, and a great communicator. Almost three hours went by before we realized, is it time for a break? - the action was hot and made everything zoom by. And more followed after that. Lots of great fun - can’t recommend him highly enough.

After a couple of years of messaging back and forth, I finally had the opportunity to meet up with this strong young buck for a fun fighting match. Without going into all the details, we had a bit of a rip and strip and threw down. Enjoyable evening and OhioNerd is a very friendly guy who has power behind those fists. He was respectful and kind and we look forward to locking up again in the future. Highly recommend!

My match with FenwayFighter has been long in the making. Our schedules finally aligned and we were able to get on the mats. We had an intense and sweaty match. He is athletic, resilient, and strong! It was a ton of fun and left both of us wanting a round 2. As this guy learns more technique he will be even more of a challenge than he already is! He is easy to chat with between rounds and his trash talk simmers slightly as he tires during the match! 😉 Overall, it was a great workout with a genuinely nice guy! I highly recommend wrestling FenwayFighter!

Hedloker was one of my first opponents during the open mats in Mechelen this weekend — and a great one to start the day with.

It was my first time at an open mats event, so there was definitely a bit of healthy tension in my head, especially with so much experience on the mats. He immediately stood out as one of the more seasoned guys, and that showed in a very positive way: controlled, relaxed and easy to engage with.

Without me even saying anything, he helped set me at ease and find my rhythm from the start.

Would definitely enjoy rolling with him again at future events.
